There was a remaTkable : procession at Wandsworth, when 600 men and women with children and infants in arms ana perambulators marched to the workhouse and demanded admission, which was refused, with the exception of four women and a number of children Whoee husbands or fathers tad been previously admitted. The police dispersed the others. . . •, An official stated that the workhouse accommodation waa 900, but'this number bad already been exceeded.
