Jonea was acquitted at the Monmouthshire Assises l>y a jury, inoluding five women, on a charge of murdering Freda Bruflell, aged nine years, who disappeared after going on an errand to a shop in Abertillery, where Jonea waa employed. A witness testified to hearing Bcreams in a shed adjoining the shop. Brunell's strangled body was found on February 6th, after several days' search by neighbours, ( in a lane previously searched.
