The Alexandria correspondent of the "Daily Express" reports that the town ia now quiet. An excellent effect _hus been produced by a parade of Marines from the cruiser Calypso. (Received May 27th, 11.20 p.m.) CAIRO, May 26. The Nationalist leader, Zaghloiil, who is held to be indirectly responsible for the recent outbreak here, and at Alexandria, made a belated and called on the to restrain their righteous anger against the Ministry and cease their demonstrations. ' He is endeavouring to saddle the authorities with the responsibility for the disorders. The threatened railway Btrike in Cairo did not materialise. Two thousand five- hundred railway workshop workers who struck, have been dismissed. A Government cotton store was set on fire, 10,000 bales of cotton being involved.
