ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (pbess association teleoram.) WELLINGTON. May 27. The annual conference of the New Zealand branch of the British Ked Gross and Order of St. John concluded yesterday' The annual,report and bal-ance-sheet were adopted. The following officers were elected: President, Sir Heaton .Rhodes: chair* man of Executive Committee, Dr. Collins; vice-presidents. Messrs Guns-n (Auckland), Fie she r (Canterbury), Rev. Bryan King (Otago), and one to be appointed by the Wellington centre; Executive Committee, the president, four vice-presidents, Mr Tripp (chairman), Mrs Luke, and one representative from each centre. , The meeting approved the principle of sending a, rurse to attend the next London session of the Nursing Division of the League of Red Cross Societies in connexion with public health. It was decided to leave the matter of comforts, for mental patients to tie discretion of each centre. Four thousand negatives of overseas soldiers' graves having been received by the Defence Department, it waß agreed that the Society should undertime the cost of having these printed. It was resolved that the committee should:communicate with the British lied Cross authorities regarding the issue of medals to Red Cross worker* who had received no other decoration. The annual report states that thoro arcr 810 patients in military hospitals .and sanatoria, and 224 in civilian hospitals. The sum of one thirty thou* part, of the surplus funds >f the British Red Cross Society had been received by the New Zealand, Society and placed in the Post Office Savings Bank, pending further action. The New Zealand Society, in conjunction with the Canadian Society, had established an agency at Calais to assist New Zealanders to find the braves of relative*. The credit balance of the Society at the bank amounts to £2553.
