AKAROA PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH.
The annual meeting of the representatives oi tii© .fresbyterian Utiargo on the .fceuinr aula took place in the iSiljio L'liifs rooms oi irinity Uhurcli, Akaroa, on Thuiday alternoon. The Moderator, Kev. J. \<f. Haywurd, presided, and th© following delegates were present:—Messrs Oas. •t'et.tigretf, jlay, A. Mcii.ay, and W. Uorrigaii (tigeon .tiny) J. 1). iSruco, A. K. Munro, T. liewilt, M. Jotmaon, A. J. -Pftrris (Anaroa), jicKuy (Uuvauchaile), and J. fc>. IJodds (Hon. secretary and trcasuier). Apologies were_re-. ccivcd irom Messrs W. D. Macphail (Wainui) and W. Pool (Akaroa), The chairman extended a hearty welcome to <he delegates, thanked them for the cordial co-operation and loyal support he had received irom them, and briefly reviewed the work of the/ year. ' The balance-sheet showed -receipts ±«i 17s 4kl, and expenditure £461 7s Sd, leaving a debit balance of £29 9s 9d. The balance-sheet was adopted on tne motion of Mt A. J. Parris. The new assessment, specifying tne amounts payable by the various portions of the charge to the annual npkeop, was agreed to on the voices. The report of the- Building Committee was adopted. It stated that great inconvenience had been caused by the delay in forwarding material. Tho new manse was now well under wav, and it was hoped that it would be ready tor occupation before the summer. An offer from a church member to finance the project until such time as tne charge was able to meet it 9 liability was accepted with t.hanEs. ... On the motion of Mr Jan. Pettigrew, secended by Mr J. D. Bruce, hearty congratulations were tendered to the chairman on the completion of his twenty-five yoarß service as an ordained minister in New Zealand, and warm appreciation was expressed of his work during the paat year. Mr Hayward gratefully acknowledged the motion of Mr Hay, seconded by MrjL McKay, congratulations were tendered to Mr J. S. Dodda on the completion of thirty years' servioe as hon. secretary and treasurer of the Peninsula charge and of Trinity Church, Akaroa.
