B GRADE COMPETITION. Opaw* defeated Lin wood on the last round of the play off of the Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association's B Grade competition, and in consequence .tie three teams;- Linwood, Op awe, and St. Albans find their position unchanged. Another round will accordingly have to be played, and this will be conducted on tie "sudden death' principle. The teams will draw, two will meet, and the other have a bye, and the 'final will be played between the winner of the two and the Jbolder of the bye. Saturday's results were as follows, Op&wa players being mentioned first - Singles.—Hcmnsell 9 v. Young 5, Steeds 9 v. Jenkins 4, Willis 9 v. Hall 6, Bobinsdn 9 v. "Wood 4. . STDNEY, May 1. In the tennis championships Hfrwkes injured himself, necessitating his forfeiting in the singles and mixed doubles. His injury is not serious. Results: Singles Championship—Patterson won from Hawkea by default. Doubles Championship—Patterson and Thomas beat Todd and Peach, 6-1, 10-8, 64.
