CHRISTCHURCH MARISTS v. WELLINGTON MARISTS. Christchurch Marißts, winners of last year's Rugby Union Championship, met the newlyformed Wellington Marists Football Club, at Athletic Park, Wellington, on Saturday. A good deal of interest was taken, in the game, but the driving rain, which fell all through the afternoon, militated against a good display of football. Early in the first spell Markham, tho ex-West Coast player, made a fine dash thro.igh. the visiting backs, and Mahony scored a try which was not converted. Ellis, for Christehurch, iequalised matters later wiih a penalty goal. In tho second opcll King kicked a penalty goal for Wellington, and from tho ensuing kick-off Londrigan, Ellis, McDonald, and D. M-Cor-mick took the'ball three-quarters the length of tho field, the last-named scoring for Christchurch Marists. Thte gamo ended in n draw, n penalty goal and a try each.

NEW ZEALAND RUGBY LEAGUE. The annual conference of Associations affiliated to the. New Zealand Rugby League was held in Wellington on Saturday, Mr D. W. McLean presiding over a full attendance of delegates. Tho chairman, in his address, referred to the invitations extended by the New South' Wales League, the Queensland League,'and tho visit of the Queensland team, to Now Zealand.

Following the chairman's report, and presentation of reports of the English tour, the Auckland representative moved, and it was agreed, that the Council hold a conference of Referees' Associations, if possible, this season, -with tho object of securing' uniform rulings. Tho Auckland Centre's remit that in future the annual meeting of the New Zealand Rugby League be held at Wellington at Easter was carried. It \vae agreed tha-t all remit 9 from tho various centres should be forwarded at least four weeks prior to the annual meeting, and each Centre supplied with ft copy to give them an opportunity of Instructing their representatives thereon.

The leasing of grounds was discussed at length, and a recommendation thoreOn endorsed to tho Council.
