PHILATELIC SOCIETY.
ANNUAL MEETING. 1 The tenth annual meeting of the OhjJ church Philatelic Society was hold on Y7\ ncsdai', being i)receded by a dinner. Mt\ h. Chappell was in the chair. I The following toasts were honoured: —"T\ Kins," 'The Socioty" (proi>Oßed by Mr I JT. Collins, and responded to by Mr Chad pell), "Kindred Societies" (proposed by JJ> A. W. Couser, and responded to by Mr H\ K Joyce), "Past Officers" (proposed by Mi J. Burgess, and responded to by Mr R. J.\ G. Collins), "Philately" (proposed by Mr L.\ Yuruazoui, and responded to by Mt P. It-' Jackson). Tho annu'al report, which was adopted, slated that the membership was- 100. Regret was expressed at the deaths of Messrs M. L. Cotton and TV. C. Elwood, and sywpathy was extended to their relatives'. The activities of the Society during tho year were reviewed, and a hopo expressed that n. junior section would be formed during l the year. Thanks were due to Messrs F. C. B. Bishop and tho HoyeJ Philatelio Sooiety for gifts of literature, and to-Mr A. "W". Couser, exchange superintendent, for his ivaluabl* work. Owing to his approaching departure for Wellington, Mr K. J. G. Collins had tesigned the- secretaryship, but ho would continue his keen interest in the Sooiety, and assist in its research work. _ Tho election of officers lesulted as follows:—President, Mr A. L. Ch»ppeir(rej elected); vice-president, Mr W. <i. Alexander; hon, secretary! Mr P. Hon. treasurer and exchange Mr A. W. Couser (re-elected); convmittoe, Messrs L. Vernnzoni, H. L. Joyce, A. M. Sugden, and L. Kent; literature committee, Messrs A." L. Chn-ppell, L. Verruutoni, and P. It. Jackson; hon. auditor, Mt A, G. Pearson; librarian, Mr L. Vernamni; research worki committee, Messrs K. L. 1 Joyce, P. B. Jackson, and Don. M. Brown; island Weearoh work oommittee, Messrs A. U. Chsppell, h. Vernazoni, and It. J. Q. Collins. The Hon. Sir R, Heaton Rhode* anC Messrs J. h. Collins, Hipwell, and A. S. Clarkson were elected members. ■ Congratulations were extended to Mr «. J G.
