METROPOLITAN TROTTING CLUB.
EASTER MEETING.
The New Zealaud Metropolitan Trotting Club will open its Easter Electing to-day. This is • tho la=i fixture at headquarters tor the present season, and the good stakes offered have attracted most of the best horses in commission at the present time. Southern stables are particularly well represented, and, ■with fine weather, the prospects of a successful fixture seem assured. The principal race of the day, the Easter Handicap, of two miles, endowed witli £750, has attracted twelve hiL'h-ckujS 'handicap horses. Mat-hlight, from JBrvee's stable, is in good form at present and should run well, while the presence or th-.> southerners Jack Arrali and Kangitata Lass should add interest to the content.
