TO THE EDITOR OF "THK PRESS." Sir, —I was pleased to see that it is proposed to remedy the present unsatisfactory method of conveying moat from the abattoir to tlio local meat shops. As a newcomer to your city. 1 was staggered at the , gross carelessness displayed in such an important matter. In no other city have I observed such a disregard for, tiho health of the community. The City Council, I understand, already control the abattoir; why not .go a step further and provide a shitablo elosed-in van for the conveyance'of the meat to the city shops,' as Recommended by two of your' loading medical men? —Yours, etc., PURE FOOD.
