MINING DISPUTE.

A' FRESH DEVELOPMENT. (PRESS association telegram.) WELLINGTON, February 7. A' fresh development has arisen in the mining dispute. Some days ago difficulty arose at the Kaitangata coal mine between the mine-owners and tho Miners' Union. The latter made a demand upon the company tJhat it should be responsible for tne collection of certain debts owing to tho Union. The employers declined to undertake responsibility in the matter, which was purely a union one. It is stated that the employers will insist that until tho difficulty is settled they will not allow their representatives to appear at the sitting of the committee which baa been set up to enquire: into the alleged victimisation of Henderson. They consider that since the committee was set up for the specific purpose of discussing the Blackball dispute, wihich is not concerned with the dispute at Kaitangata, the sitting of tho committee is dependent upon the stipulation in the agreement arrived at before tho Prime Minister that operations should be continued for at least two weeks before the is Called. _ • From advice received in AVellington, it appears that normal output- has-been resumed at all tho coal mines at Kaitangata.
