ADDINGTON MARKET.

BIG STORE SHEEP YARDING. PRICES GENERALLY FIRMER. (BY OUR COHMEttCIAI, EflltOB.) This week's market was notable, for the exceptionally big entry of store sheep. Altogether there was an entry of quite 27,000 sheep in the store section, of Which nearly three-fourths were lambs. Included in the entry were big consignments . from the South. In spite of the overflow yarding prices were wonderfully well'maintained, the fillip given to growth by. the repent rains influencing a fair demand and clearance. A consignment of Chatham Islands sheep arrived in time for the aa!e, but they had such a rough passage that few of them wore offered. The buffeting 1 about they got means a substantial loss for the owners, as before the vessel came into port the condition of fully 20 per cent, of, the consignment was so bod that'they were dumped overboard. Both fa,'- cattlo and fat eheep sold more firmly than last week. STORE SHEEP. There was a very large yarding, mostly lambs, including many' from outside districts. 'There was a fairly keen demand for forward storo • lambs; byt the , ),arger entry was responsible for a slight easing in values as compared with the high rates ruling at the last two .sales. p Backward. sorts fell away more than forward stuff,' and adult sheep were not wanted; except, at buyers' own prices. The sale continued until after 5 o'clock, and held up well until near the close. Where vendors realised the size of the yarding there was a good clearance, but extravagant reserves in 'a number of cases caused frequent passings.
