CORRESPONDENCE.
TRAVEL IN NEW ZEALAND. TO THB EDITOR O* "THE PBESS." Sir, —I have lately returned from England, and was very sorry to hear in a London hotel lounge an English traveller condemning travel in New Zealand. He had been all oyer the world, and came out to see New Zealand before the war. He had been to all our beauty spots, and he detailed all "thei discomforts and early riflings and tinned food that (he had had to put uo with. Especially he complained of the Wanganui river trip, and could notrsee the necessity for the early rise to catch the steamer. He ended by strongly advising no one to go out and see New Zealand in its present state. All this is very bad for our country, and by recent letters in "The Press" from returned travellers I see that all his remarks are true. —Yours, etc., RETURNED NEW ZEALANDER. [ln tihe latter part of his last sentence our Correspondent takes rather an exaggerated view of statements by recent tourists, none of whom condemned travel facilities in New Zealand so unreservedly.—Ed. "The Press."]
