Winning Hit gave Sir George Clifford his eleventh win in the Middle Park Plate. Ho first won the race in 1900 with Stronghold, then from 1907 to 1912 scored six wins in succession with Glenwilloch, Fleetfoot, Sharpshooter, Afadam ALadcap, Antagonist, and Autumnus (sire of Wi ruling Hit).
