An enquiiy has opened concerning the caso of bix married soldiers who, it is alleged, were shot by mistake in December, 1914, pn the ground that they abandoned tnoir posts in thopresence of the enemy, The widows are claiming a revision of th,e sentence, and a proclamation of the men's innocence, Before their death the soldiers tfera given time tb inform their relatives of their impending fate. 1.- One wrote to his wife: "I am going to be shot for an.. unknown reason. He statedthat two squads retired by order pi an officer who denies the allegation.' The Minister of Justice has ordered a trial. SENTBNOT~AjbTULLED. (Received January 80th, Si P-m.) PARIS, January 29* The Court of Cassation annulled the sentence passed on the six soldiers who were shot, and awarded the widows annual pensions of two thousand francs, and the children one thousand francs, from December, 1914.
