♦ I At the December meeting of the committee of the Plunket Society there wero present Mrs I'\ H. .presiding, and Mesdames Deans, Thacker, Chilton, H. It. Smith, Staniland, H. A. Knight. J. Stevenson, Fuldseth, Bristed, and Miss I?. Tabart. Miss Colin Pyne was elected honorary treasurer. in place of Miss 11. Tabart, who has resigned, as she leaves for England this month. Tlie Glentunncl annual report was read, and gave great satisfaction. This branch is considered by the committee as one of the most successful. The office report from Nurse Hansard showed a very busy month, 532 tallies having teen brought to the office. Nurse Mackie, who leaves this month to bo married, had made her last, visit to all the country branches, and had 27 new cases on Her books. ' The commit tee voted a message ofj sympathy with Nurse Wilson, whose brother had lately been killed, and gave her leave of absence till the New Year. The following were elected to fill vacancies on the committee: Mrs Phillip Greenwood, It. M. Morten, and Mrs Aigar Williams. Matron Chapman, for the Christchurch Karitane Baby Hospital, reported that babies had been admitted, and four discharged. There were fifteen in hospital, and one mother with her baby, all making satisfactory progress. Three maternity nurses were taking their first tnrec* months' training a3 Plunket narses, and there were ten

probationers training for Karitane nurses. The accommodation was severely tax- 1, and five tents had been put up. , . Totes of thanks were passed to Air H. A. Knightr for potatoes, and to Mrs Gowing and Mrs C. W. lUud for baby clothes, and to Miss Gibson, who had allowed the Higfi School girls to make baby clothes. *
