FIRE BOARD.
: * The Christchurch Fire Board met last night. Present—Messrs H. P. Hopkins (chairman), A. Williams, H. Holland, #11. R. Rusbridge, and A. Manning. The Superintendent reported that 17 calls were received during the past month, 3 false alarms, 2 chimney fires, 1 gras9 fire, 1 outside district call, and 10 actual fires within the city. The estimated fire loss was £1205, insurances £14,595, value of property affected £34,105. A donation of £5 5a was made to the Bri- . gade recreation fund. As the meeting was the last one of the year the chairman wished members of the • Board the compliments of the season.
