"Right oh!" was the remark Samuel John Thorn made when he was arrested on a charge of murdering Sidney Seymour Eyre; "JRight oh was his demeanour throughout his two trials, and "Right oh!" is said to nave been "his reply yesterday when the sheriff of Auckland (Mr A. Stubbs) told him in the condemned cell at Mount Eden gaol that the Executive Council had made 110 recommendation to quash the order for his execution.. His demeanour throughout has thus been unchanged. So far Thorn has made no statement or confession in regard to the crime of which he has been found guilty.? The date of the execution has not yet been set down by the sheriff, but it is understood that it will probably be fixed for Tuesday, December 21st.
