CADET CAMP REDCLIFFS.
. ♦ ' BOYS' HIGH SCHOOL The Boys' High School Cadet Gamp, at Bedcliffe, which commenced last Wednesday, was thrown open to visitors yesterday afternoon, when a very large number of the friends of tho boy® visited tba ©amp, and were shown through the linos. All .tract® of the big storm of the previous evening were gone by tho afternoon, the atmospheric conditions, by then, being of a much Lore pleasant character. At 3.30 afternoon tea was served by tho Cadeta m the big marquee, the visit-ors being well looloed after. The camp copsists of forty-four bell tents for the boys, .five officers' tents, including one for tho medical officer, a camp canteen, a headquarters tent, and tho usual camp stores tents and camp kitchen. The officer in command is Major Bow, and with him are the following school officer*:—Captain Hoar (damp Adjutant),, and Lieutenant* A. McLachlan, H. Baveistock, C. L. King, A. D. Tench {an old boy), and seven etsfl-eereeants-nuvjor. The orders for tho day are aa follow®:—s.3o a.m., bathing pajrade ut Sumner; 8.80 e~m., prayers; 9-12 noon, instruction by stalf-oergeaiitrmajoxs in infantry drill, physical drill,, and musketry. The afternoon instruction ia similar to that of the morning. . During the evening's good use lamada of a. large tent, provided by the Y.M.OA., - where writing and reading material are provided, and mng pong, bagatelle, quoits ©tc., ■ are played under the. supervision of Mi Speiuer Green. Lights out i« sounded M 9.15 p.m. During Saturday morning the camp was photographed in mass before the work waa commenced. In the afternoon general We was granted, most of the lads taking an opportunity to visit Sumner. Yesterday morning there was -Church parade at 10 o'clock, when the Kev. C. lJun- . naco conducted service. At 6.30 p.m. evening servico was token by the headmaster, Mr C. E. Bevan-Brown, AI.A On Wednesday the camp will be inspected by Colonel Young, 0.C.1)., C.8., and the afternoon will bo devoted to atfaletio , and competitions, amongst which wul be included individual tug-of-war, cock fighting, physical, O'Grady (best boy) competition, potato races, etc. Competition® now in . progress include prizes for the best and , most orderly tent, at "Lights out ; for the smartest n.c.0., and for tho smartest and best behaved boy. The camp will bo open to the general publio, and at tho txmolusion tho prizes for the competitions, also those for snooting, will bo awarded Camp will be struck at 8.25 ft.m. on Thursday.
