CROSS-COUNTEY BXTN.
The annual cross-countrytuti of the Canterbury College student* was held orer the CashmS> courle on Saturday. It was also the first contest for a. challenge cup pjaeentea by Mr L. A. DongalL A big crowa of spectators witnessed the event. „»».„„»>, Eighteen runners started, and although some of them went off the course and covered a longer distance than was necessary, a good, race was witnessed. Following,aro the iesulte the times including the Handicaps ellowed — J. Corcoran (4Jmin), 46min 59sec, l; E D. R Smith (2min). 47min 30seo, 2; Hainan (limin), 47rnin 53eec, 3. E. O. Page (scr) gained fastest time in 36min 16soc. Hβ obtained sirth place.
