DIOCESAN CHORAL FESTIVAL.
-a The annual festival of the Chrietchurch Diocesan Choral Association was hold in the Cathedral yesterday, two ecrvice-a being obeerved, at 3 p.in. and 7 p.ni. The choristers, numbering over 300,. and gathered from the several Anglican Church choirs in the diooese, walked in their surplices around the Cathedral to the main entrance, singing the processional hymn selected for the occasion. During the interval between the eervioea the- choriatere had tea at the Beresford Tea Rooms. * Tho following choirs took part in tho festival:—Merivale, Avoneide, Papanui, Heathcote, Opawa, Fendalton, Riccurton, Chriet'e College, St. Albans, St. Luke's, Sydenham, New Brighton, Spreydon, and Woolston. The Precentors were the Eevs. E. H. Shore and! Jones. Mr O'Donel Davie was conductor o<? the choir, and Mr R- E. l«ake organist. The order of tio service was:—Proceeeional hymn, "Round the Sacred City Gather," Psalm cv., "O. Give Thanks Unto tho Lord," >lagniflcat and Nunc Dimittis by C. H. Lloyd, M.A., Mus. Doc; anthem, "•Stand Up and Bless the Lord Your God," hymn "Holy Father, Cheer Our Way," offertory and hymn "Yc Watchers and Yβ Holy Ones," receeeionol' hymn "Tho God of Aoraham Praise." In th© evening , the Bev. L. A. Knight, vicax of Leithfield, preached an iinpreeeive eexmoa from the opening words of the Magnificat, "My uoul doth magnify the- Lord and my spirit doth rejoice in God my Saviour" (Luke
