JAPANESE STEAMERS.
SEAMEN'S PROTEST. (PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGE/OiI.) WELLINGTON, October. 5. A stop-work meeting of seamen today passed a motion strongly protesting against the employment of Japanese steamers, with Japanese _ crews, in the intercolonial trade, and instructed the union headquarters to take immediate action in tho interests of the whole membership of the union.
