* . ANNUAL COMPETITIONS. The Canterbury Band of Hope Union's Competitions drew another large audience to Trinity Hall, Manchester street, last evening. The various item-* were well contested, and a very interesting programme was submitted. Vocal Solo, Class B, boys; own selection Maurice Browne (Linwood Methodist), "That's What God Made_ Mothers - For"; Colin Sutton (Avonside), "lou'll Get Heaps of Lidkings"; Eric Mnnson (Madras street Methodist). "In An Old Fashioned Town.' Recitation. Class C, girls; Union eelection "Tho Two Glasses' (Ella Wheeler Wilcox)—Clance Skinner (Riccarton United), Edna Lindsnv (Linwood Presbyterian), Valerie Tolputt (Opawa Methodist), Bessie Pollard (Svdcnham United).
