BRITISH MINERS' STRIKE THREAT.

President of ' the Miners" Federation, has officially announced that nothing emerged during the conference to justify the prevention of a strike. The Transport "Workers' Conference endorsed the miners' claims, and authorised the executive to take impaction necessary. ] (Received September 22nd. 7.20 p.m.) LONDON, September 21. After hearing Mr Smiliie's announcement that the Miners' Executive did i not consider that the negotiations with the Government had revealed any justification for the prevention of a strike, the Miners' Conference adjourned to enablf- the different sections to discu?s the situation. It i> believed that the miners' leaders are not unanimous in favour of a strike. ' j A deputation from tho Women's j Political Lcnguo endeavoured to interview tho Conference to present a petition protesting acainst n strike, whi"h would inflict untold suffering on millions of innocent women nnd children. The Conference declined to admit the deputation, but received the petition. t
