WELLINGTON, September 22. The Hon. J. MacGregor to-day gave notico in the Legislative Council 'of tlio Marriages Act Amendment Bill (No. 2). The Bill provides that the Registrar-; General is not to enter on the list of officiating ministers: (a) The name ot duv bishop, priest or minister of tho Roman Catholic Church, so long as the ise Temero docree, or chapter-1 of the decree of the Council of Trent (referred to in the Ne Temere decree) is in force in New Zealand. (b) Tho name of anv bishop, priest, or minister of any Church which, by any articles of religion, confession cf faith, creed, or catechism, denies or questions, either directij or by implication, the validity in anv sense of marriages solemnised in accordance with the provisions of the Marriage Act.
