W., S.S.W., t. light, v. light. Cloud (MO) .. «• 9 7 The readings taken at the Ashburton Bomain weather station at 9 a.m. yesterday were:—Barometer, 29.7; thermometer, max. 48, min. 42; rain, .33in. SUMMARY AND FORECAST. Atmospherio pressure has been very low everywhere, and strong ■westerly winds have predominated. The weather has been dull and misty, with rain generally, but improved conditions have been reported in pairta to-day. Present indications are for hi?n west to , south-west winds and cold, squally weather with heavy showers generally and snow on the higher levels in. the South Island, the barometer unsteady ■ but ijjaing everywhere shortly.
