Russell, a daughter, resides in Dunedin, and the r>ons are Mr L. A. Russell (Christchurch) and Mr H. S. Russell (Timaru). Mr Henry F. Davis, cf the Wellington firm of B'avis and Clater, died on Wednesday, 'iho deceased, was a justice of' the peace, was a highly respected and highly popular gentleman, and ivfls active until his d-entli. So "Wtis seventy years of age, and leaves a widow, a. married daughter, and four sons, three of whom were orr active service. Mr Davis came from Oxford, 1 v,ns , an energetic member of all volunteering movements. First he joined_ the Nelson Volunteers, and reorganised them. In 18Sj he joined the Kaiwarra Rifles as lieutenant, and then joined tho Petone Rifles, with similar rank. He was the founder of the Kelburn itiflo B-i----gaue and the Boys' Brigade. Mr W. Havdihain, V.C., was one of the boys who wis in the deceased gentleman's I Beys' Brigade.
