Luke) j presided. i The Prime Minister, who waa amongst 1 those on the platform, presented Mr H. F. ' "Wilson with a New Zealand flag, and said he hoped that the leader of the team would have an opportunity of carrying tho flapr to '■ victory on many occasions. * Win or loss, I the team would, ho was sure, show- them- | E-e'.res true sportsmen. | Mr "Wilson, vlio took tho Hag from the | Prime Minister, said that they considered it | a groat honoTir to represent Now Zealand, i They wanted to bring- New Zealand before |, the notice of other countries. If trying 1 would make Winners, then there were four winners on the platform. Mr A. S. Marryatt, New Zealand representative on the Olympic Council, presented each of the representatives and Mr "Valrond with-'a silver fern badge, with "N.Z." j engraved on it. Ho referred to the fact- j that it was the first time New Zealand had ' raised a flag at tho Games, and he. was very glad to seo that a lady was amongst tho team—a lady who had equalled the reccrj of the champion lady swimmer tho Games.
