MANAROA FOR FIJI TRADE.
Tlio .coaxal . steamer Manaroa has been sold by Me?.si s Miller Bros., of Port Chalms-rs, to Captain IT. Johnson, oi_ Lcvuka, for the- Islands copra trade. The Manaroa, which was built- in Auckland m '1697, has a gross tonnage of 121.82. Messrs Miller Lros. acquired her io carry riiu-oiunory from the North Island, and she afterwards ms salvaging at the Waikare, before being put into tile coastal ■ carrying trade. Thoroughly overhauled and repaired, she showed allround improvement. On her latest ri-n from Lyttelton to Port Chalmers she developed a half-knot of Vytra ?T>2ed, and a new propellsr now being fitt&d is cxpeeted to produce another «'Xtra half-knot, totalling nine knots altogether. Captain Johnson will probably be leaving in .about a week for Fiji with jus liev.- steamer.
