()n its last f'hootiti- night the Rakaia iiiniaturo Kifio Club clcciciod ocveral competitions. For the n trophy competition the following' members have to shoot off:— iies3ia Pye, Hewson, «nd C. Hoimes. A aweepstako was won by J. Nowton, with A. Oliver second. Another sweepstake was won by A. Oliver, with H. Cromio second. Mr J. Now ton has offered a prize of ono guinea to the marksman putting: on tho lirst possible on the Club* range, and Messrs Eallantyno and Co., Bcath and Co., and \V. Strange and Co. liavo forwarded trophies for competition.

Encouraged by tho success of tho Men's Rifle Club, which now has eighty membors, the Rakaia ladiaa ccntemphitod tho formation of a similar club, and a meeting- was called to further tho project. Tho men offered the use of their rango for fln evening's 'shooting', but the attendance of ladies was so meagre that the idea will probably be dropped.

At a general meeting of tho club, Mr A. Oliver presided. The proposed rules and range regulations for the club were discussed at length, find finally adopted. It was reported by the secretary that ho had received enquiries concerning the formation of clubs from Don'-? and Diinsandel. Mcsera G. Cromie and W. E. Judkins were appointed the club trustees. Mr 11. Ifewson was added to the committee. Tho suggestion that tlie club rules be printed was left to the committee to consider.
