TO-DAY'S ELECTION. An election to fill the vacancy on the City Council, caused by tho death of Cr. "VV. Nicholls, will take place to-day. Three nominations have been received for the seat, comprising Messrs Edgar F. Stead (Citizens' Association), Mr Christopher Ilcnn (Labour), and Mr It. Hoppy. The polling hours are from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m., and booths will be situated as follows: —Art; Gallery, Tramway shelter in Cathedral square, St. John's Schoolroom, Madras street, the Foresters' Hall, Oxford terrace, St. Michael's Schoolroom, Durham street, Hibernian Hall, Barbadoes street, Knox Schoolroom, Bealcy avenue, marquee, corner Madras and Aberdeen streets, and Methodist Schoolroom, Stanmoro road.
