BOROUGH COUNCIL.

WOOLSTON. j The Woolston Borough Council met last night. Present—The Mayor (Mr C.' Hill), Crs. J. C. Hobson, L. Hart, H. McLachlan, jl. E. Radcliff, D. Mcßae, J. L. Gant, W. R. Blazey, a.nd G. T. Owen. The Works Committee recommended with reference to Mr Keys's application for improvements to Marshall street, that the owners of property in the street bo asked if they will give the neccssary land to widen the street in accordance with the by-laws. The committee o.!bo recommended that a six months' heavy traffic .license be granted to Messrs Williams and Stephens. The report was adopted. The Library Committee reported that it had decided that the books in the Library' bo shelved alphabetically, according to authors' names. The granting of tho use of ono of the rooms in the Library for educational clarseo was left to the chairman. The report was adopted. The Finanoo Committee's recommendation that the Valuation Department bo requested to re-value the borough was adopted. A resolution from tho Stratford Borough Council, asking support fowords a general Saturday half-holiday was approved. The Council approved a resolution from the Cromwell Borough Council, urging that the embargo on tho export of hidee be reimposed. ,
