CONSCIENTIOUS OBJECTORS.

I A plea for conscientious objectors was mado by Mr S. Boreham when the New Zealand Workers' Union met the Minister of Labour (Sir "William Horries) at "Wellington, on Saturday. Mr Boreham urged that now the war was over they should not pursue a vindictive policy against those whoso views had differed from their own. The embargo on military defaulters should be removed. Tho disfranchisement of offenders for ten vears was going too far. The union was not a political body; but if the Labour Party came into office it would have to remove the disfranchisement. A returned soldier member of the deputation endorsed Mr Boreham's plea, and said the Government should not hand over the affairs of the country to the "military junkers," who .were having men flung into gaol. Sir William Herries said the matter was now before Cabinet, and he could not express an opinion upon it.
