It is understood that Dr. Cope's Antarctic expedition lias been definitely abandoned. fDr. Cope was to have left in the Terra Nova for Wellington next month, for the South Pole. The sum of £150,000 was required to finance the expedition, but up to January last only £20,000 had been promised.")
