Although the situation in Germany will dominate the work of the San Remo Conference, the Turkish Treaty will also be dealt with, involving an important decision regarding Armenia. It is authoritatively stated that whatever tho Supreme Council's reply to tho objections of the League of Nations to accepting the proposed mandate, Turkey will not retain the suzerainty of Armenia. [The Executive Committee of the League of Nations at a recent meeting in Paris adopted, tho report of Lord Robert Cecil on tho protection and maintenance of the future State of Armenia, which showed that, as tho League of Nations had not tho necessary financial and military resources for the purpose, tho Supreme Council should dccide how temporary financial arrangements may be secured.
