WAR GRAVES.

4 SIR THOS. MACKENZIE'S REPORT (By Cabl«— Press Association —Copyright-. ' (Australian and Tf.Z. Cablo Association.) (Received April 17th, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, April 16. Sir Thomas Mackenzie, High Ccm. missioncr for New Zealand, visited the military cemeteries in Franco and Belgium, where already 800 cemeteries have been placed under the control or the Imperial War Graves Commission. Sir Thomas Mackenzie states that such cemeteries as have been completed are now beautiful and well kept, and planted with flowers. Notwithstanding the magnitude of the work and the difficulties involved, favourable progress has been made. Some cemeteries, where the permanent work has not been commenced, are in more or less disorder, mainly due to the fact that they had come under shell fire after being laid out.
