CASUALTIES.
James McAdam, of Sydenham, who received severe injuries last Wednesday niglit, as a result of his clothes catching fire, is still in a serious condition at the Christchurch Hospital. On Saturday an eight-months'-old baby, named William G. Bevin, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, suffering from scalds, as a result of a plate of hot soup being spilt over him. The parents, who are on a visit to Christchurch from the North Island, were dining at a restaurant in the city when the mishan occurred. The baby is reported to b'e progressing satisfactorily in the Children's Ward. (PRESS ASSOCIATION" TELEGRAMS.) WELLINGTON", April ]8. Alfred French, who was employed as a storemnn by the Wellington Harbour Board, fell from a tramcar in Ccurtenay place, last night, receiving injuries to which he succumbed at an early hour this moraine. WELLINGTON, April 17. At the" inquest on. Hurry Deeley this morning, a vcrdict was returned that deceased committed suicide.
