"She is timed to leave Wellington to-morrow night foj Sydney. Tho Wcstralia is due hero on Sunday frojp Wellington, and -will eo-il on Monday for Dtmcdin, Bluff, and Melbourne. The Katoa, with a full load of coal for Lyttelton, left Newcastle on Tuesday. She should arrive here about Monday. Tho Baden-Powell came off Ibo elir» yosterdny, and commenced to 'lond for Wollinston, for which port eh© is timed to Bail to-night. She will later go to Nvdia Bay to load timber for Lyttelton. ASHORE ON GALAPAGOS ISLANDS. (Received March 31st. 9 p.m.) MELBOURNE, March 31. The* Federal Government's steamer Carawa is ashore on ihe. Galapagos Isiandsj two days' steam from Panama. The crevr are eafe, but it is feared tho vesaol will become a total wreck. [The Carawa, a vessel of 3530 tons frrcss resrister, was formerly the Austrian steamer Turui, which was seized by the Australian authorities early im tho war. Tho Carawa was pn her way from Port Arthur (Texas) with a cargo of oil for Australia. Th« Galapagos Islands, which are frequently sighted by New Z-raland steamers on their way to aand from th© Panama Canal, are "n and n©ar tho. Equator, 700 miles west of Ecuador, to which thev belong.
