Tho competition for the magnificont trophies given by the "Weekly Press" nas been very keen during tho past season, tho Senior Cadets thoroughly enjoying the contests. For the North Island Shield tho New Plymouth Coys' High School (No 24 Company) repeated their victory of last . year, and will hold the Shield for tho . next twelve months. Tho score put ' np (650) was an excellent one, the ■ members scoring vorv evenly i For the South Island Shield, Marl- • • borough College (No. J 2 Company) i put up 645. The scoring hero was more • even than tho New Plymouth, but the i average was not quite so high. i The members of each of the winning i teams will receivo handsome silver ■; medals, which are presented by tho "Wcoltly Press." il These handsome Shields hare don© ► much to increase the shooting capacity of tho Cadets, and the spirit of* emulation engendered improves tho force as a whole.
