The state of the parties to date is: — Unionists ••• ••• 21 Labour ••• ••• 21 South African Party ... 32 Nationalists ... ••• 33 Independents ... 3 There is unlikely to be any material chango in the positions of the Unionists and Labourites. The election is now a close contest between the South African Party and the Nationalists. The Hon. H. C. van Heerden, Minister pf Agriculture, wns defeated by a Nationalist at Crndock. AIT INDECISIVE RESULT. (Received March 14th. 5.5 p.m.) CAPETOWN, March 13. The final election results are not expected till next week, hut the relative position of parties is not likely to be altered. _ The analysis of the voting shows that about 34 per cent, voted for the Nationalists. The indecisive result will undoubtedly strengthen the agitation for the reunion of the two Dutch parties. It is significant that the Nationalist organs are already urging this policy, which the Government organ af Pretoria endorses, tho only alternative being it says, another election.
