PROGRESS LEAGUE'S REPRESENTATIVE. Tlio Canterbury Progress League, at its last mooting, cTocidod to nsk the Minister of Lands to allow the League to nominate a member of tho now Canterbury Land Purchnso Hoard, to bo sot up under tho provisions of the legislation recentlv enacted. It was also decided to nominate Mr C». T. Mulcock, a member of tho executive of tho League, and chairman of tho Halswell County Council, for tho seat. Tho Minister promised to consider tho matter as soon as tho elections were over. As the outcome of tho League's request and nomination, Mr Mulcock yesterday received a telogram from Mr Ritiehio, head of tho Land Purchnso Department, offering him a scat on the Canterbury Board. Mr Mnloook, it i.s understood, will accept uo position, and will advise tho Department to that effect to-day.
