A sensational Sinn Fein outrago is reported from County Clare, -whore a shooting party, consisting of Lord Inchiquin And some friends in motor-cars, was held up and fired on by a gang on the roadside. Tho party returned tho firo, and. a numbor wore injured on both sides, including the Hon. Edward O'Brfen, Lndy Beatrice O'Brien, and tvo County Deputy-Lieutenants. | Troops havo been rushed W the sceno of tho outrage. ATTEMPTED ASSASSINATION. (Received December 11th, 1.40 a.m.) LONDON. December 9. During tho debate in the Houso of Commons. Colonel Malone revealed that Mr Edward Shortt narrowly escaped assassination a few weeks ago while on a visit to Ireland. When entering Dublin Castlo, Sinn Feiners fired from cover at the hack of Mr Shortt's motor-car, but fortunately he cscaped.
