Mr Uohrrty pointed out that since the appointment of a re« dent furpenn the hospital hid become exceedingly popular, and consequently tho wcrk had cnortnous'y increnscd. If tV.ey wero poing to increase the salaries of the sisters, as was now proposed, from £30 to £100 a year, they should certainly raise the rr-ln-y of the matron, rrhirh was now onlv £130 a year.
