MR ISITT'S POSITION.
to th* kuitoh or "in* niEss." Sir, —Infirmity prevents mo from attending political meetings, and I have to rely upon what frieftds toll me and what I read in tho papers. I am a Christchurch North clector, and a sup- . rorter of Mr Mnsspy, nrd nlthongh thero is no Govcrnmont candidate stand* for election in this electorate, I wish to use my voto if I can. I nnderstard Mr Armstrong's attitude, but I nra not sure about Air Isitt's. He srtys (I have read and been told) that he will support Sir Joseph Word on a no-confidence motion, but that ho will voto against Sir Joseph if Sir Joseph i. (in tho event of his Ming able, with , the Labour members' ossistnnco, to de- * .■ feat Mr Massoy) is dependent for liii majority on the Labour men's votos. This is very puzzling to mo. If Ml Isitt cannot support Sir Joseph at Prime Minister should the Lsboui members bo ossentinl to his majority, how can ho support him in his effort, to become Prime Minister wlien rely- . ing on the Labour membors to gin him his majorityP Mr Isitt will •«* himself with tho Labour men to put Sir Joseph in. but ho will not ally himself with the Labour men to keep him in. I can't make this out. If Mr Isitt can satisfactorily explain tliis inconsistency, as it seems to me, bo win get ray vote. Otherwise, not.— Yours, etc.. PERPLEXED.
