MeDouccall wroto a poem at tho time of tho IJf-er war, but during tho great war it was frequently •republished. It refers to soldiers as "sord'.d Idler* who would murder for a fee," and adds:— "Hog-soulod and dirty-handed, Yo soil yourselves for gain, And stand for over branded Red felons after Cain." MEMBERS' SALARIES. PERTH, December 8. Tho Legislative Council passed tho Bill increasing members' salaries from £300 to £400 per annum.
