Our correspondent writes that th« Rev. A. T. Thompson, Noiv Zealand representative of tlio British and Foreign HiWo Society, met with n painful accident ft Geraldinc on Friday afternoon. At about <J p.m. on Saturday, at the corner of H.u badoes and Chester street*, a collision orcurrcd between a cart, belonging to T. H. I>uroso ? and a. motor-cycle, ridden bv Frederick T. Davis. Tlio motor-cycle was upset, and Davis, who struck tho ground heavily, rcccivinl several abrasions. Whilo climbing up tho whool of a carrier'* c.art on Saturday morning. Allen Mortlock, nged eight years, had his leg caught and a nasty wound was inflicted. lie was removed to tho hospital for treatment. A few days ago Mr C. P. Adnms, lat«< resident of Wellington nnd Palmcrstoii North, and now of Goitlburn, Nov South Wales, collider] with a motor-car whilo cycling to his hf me. He was sent clean through tho wind-screen, receiving injuria necessitating sixteen stitches to the head, lie is making satisfactory progress. Mr Adams is a son of Mr» C. W. Adams, Bellcvuo road, Lower Hutt. and brother to Dr. Adams, of Wellington. A man named Cooper, of TavlorV Mistake, lest known in the locality as ''Uncle Sam," met with an accident on Saturday night. He was proceeding over the hills from Sumner, and when nearing his hut he slipped and broke his log. A number of campers carried him to .Sumner, from where he w: - sent to tho Christchurch Hospital.
