A vote of thanks wss passed to the Oarage Proprietors' Association fcr the loan of two motor-cars fur demonstration Mid repairing purposes. A letter was received from the Board of Edncation, statin<r that a mm of f11f.7 Os 8d had bcon placed to the Board's credit. A vote of thanks was parsed to the Canterbury Agricultural and I'astorul Association for allowing College students to act in tbe capacity of marshals at the Metropolitan Show. The Appointment* Committee recorded, inter alia, that the Canterbury Agricultural and Pastoral Association be accorded a hearty vote of thanks for the facilitien offered to students at tho show, and tt.at tho fee* payable by tho St. Saviour's Orphanage for coskery instruction be remitted owing to the low average attendance caused by illness. Tho report was_ adopted. In comerion with tne report it was decidrd to establish a boot repairing class for returned soldiers, in conjunction with the Repatriation Board. Tho rrcoTt wbs adopted. The director, I)r. D. E. Hansen, dealt in his report mainly with the detail work of the College. A competition for tho trophy presented by Dr. Thscker for excellence in homo science would bo held early in January. The jeport was adopted. Satisfaction vraa erprewed at tho result of the shearing classes, and it was decided to recommend the Agricultural Committee to endeavour to find out a method to cncounige blade shearing aa much as possible. The report of tho inspectors who visited the technical High School from September 25tli to October Ist was a very good one, and high praise was given to tho results achieved nnd to the teaching staff, which was rexponsible for these results. Tho main criticism was directed to the bookkeeping of tho firat year commercial classcs, and the report also stated tbat '.he pattern making by tho engineering boys svemcd to fail short of its fall valuo bocause so actual casting could bo aow. Of the more highly commendable work, tho following u-fje outstanding examples:—The English grammar of ono of the commercial classes; the needlework of tha home science sirls; cookery, typewriting end shorthand; the engineering boys' geometrical, machine and object drawing; the firrt aid work and rhysicnl drill of thr commercial girl<t; and 'lie woodwork of the agricultural class. The report wan received, and a vote of coo> gratulition wan pasted to the Collope stifl. The examiners of the shearing cla«-s reported that fiibb was first and Hadler second in tho ma-.'bino class, and Cole first, Gibb second and Copping third for blade shearing.
