Major-General Sir Granville do L. Hyric. K.C.M.G.. (\B.. V.1)., returned to the Commonwealth a (o*- days ago. i Hvno, wbo has represented ! Sydney in the 1101250 of Roprc.sentatives for a number of roars, joined tho A.I J l ', on September* 17th, 1914. and proceeded abroad in command of the Second Light Horse Brigade. Subsequent to the armistice he was appointed to command the A-I.F. in Egypt. with the rank of temporary majar-general. He was also in charge for a limited period of tie Australian mounted divisions. For his distinguished services he was awarded several decorations, including the honour of knighthood. He was wounded during the war. General liyrie. who is interested in the pastoral industry, and resides at Miehelairo. N.S.W., also was on service in the South Africa£i war.
