His Honour Mr Justice Hosking said that where a man was manager, whether only a working manager or not, and apparently hnd the power to tell or buy, his principals must stand by any sale he made. The buyer or tho public was not supposed to know what instructions a man had. The remedy tho principals had would Iks to claim from tho manager, if he exceeded his instructions. His Honour said that he would bo upsetting the whole stock business of the country if ho upheld tho contention of the defendants, and he would need the very clearest cvitienec that the b;|yer of tho sheep was a ware of tho Homager's position when he purchased the sheep, before deciding against him.
