Apart from these, there are the subjects of special instititutionnl tradition to form the nucleus of a ceremonial function. Such a celebration as a modeft and experimental becininq was carried out yesterday, at St. Andrew's College. It lias been decided to make St. Andrew's Day. November 301 h, specially the Collcse Day. The celebration was prepared for in some measure by the attendance of the College boys in a body at St. Andrew's Church on the previous day in association with tho members of the Caledonian Society, and the Highland Pipe Band. They sat with reverent attention through the whole service, and listened with especial interest to the elonuent sermon preached bv ftev. 11. M. Ryburn, from the text. _ "Righteousness exalteth a nation," in which he reviewed the contribution of Scotland to the cause of religion and learnimr. and sought to arouse a feeling of pride in the national heroes and martyrs for rifrhteousness. The ceremonv n't the College was conducted under the guidance of the headmaster, who was assisted by some member.; of the staff, and several of the boys.
